About ADLA
The African Diaspora Leadership in Action (ADLA) is a projects-based NGO mobilizing “Africa-minded” Africans in the diaspora, “Africa-minded” Africans on the continent, and friends of Africa and its diaspora to engage in critical projects and implement skill training programs that would foster community-led development.
Our goal as an organization to create campaigns, projects and opportunities for involvement that would enable “Africa-minded” Africans in the diaspora, fully harnessing the resources available to us and passionately leading in action as we serve and impact our environment in small and extraordinary ways. As it is Africans themselves who have a call to lead the development of Africa, ADLA has curated a space for Africans in the diaspora to intimately participate in the development of Africa by exemplifying leadership in action, which leadership is reflected in our commitment our commitment to lead and transform ourselves into the doers and changers of our world; reshaping our environment in small and extraordinary ways, making a tangible impact.
There are many Africa-minded Africans and friends of Africa who want to engage themselves in development projects in Africa, but as a result of either unfamiliarity with local contexts, or because of their fear that funds will be misused or misappropriated, are wary about putting their resources where they would not see results. ADLA was born as a solution to this challenge; emphasizing transparency on the disbursement of all funds and resources received and encouraging hands-on engagement from our members and contributors at every single level of project implementation.

ADLA’s objective is to provide Africa-minded Africans in the in the diaspora, on the continent, diaspora organizations, local NGOs, international organizations and other interested parties, practical opportunities to reach and to help some the poorest communities on the African continent. Our vision as an organization is to implement projects throughout the African continent, working in local community contexts to build the kind of Africa we all want to see and be proud of.
